This feature highlights four events or activities in Austin and the surrounding area every week. If you have suggestions for events to be mentioned, please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
1. The Austin Ice Cream Festival is celebrating its 5th year by rejoicing in everything ice cream. Lots of free samples, games, fun, and more in Waterloo Park on Saturday. Click here for the details.
2. Take a Moonlight Paddle with a guided night kayak trip on Lady Bird Lake on Saturday night. Cut a wake along the lake heading up towards Red Bud Isle to see the lake in an entirely different light. For more info, please click here.
3. Choose your own Pancake, Master Pancake that is. This Sunday at Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar the Master Pancake troupe puts it to the people with their audience-selected movie mockery. Bring a DVD and be prepared to defend your choice. The troupe selects the finalists and the audience selects the winner. Then the improv begins for a night of many laughs. Click here to learn more.
4. If it’s live music you want, it’s live music you shall have. We suggest you try these shows this week. Betty Soo at Threadgill’s North on Friday, 311 and Sublime with Rome at The Backyard on Sunday, Stone Temple Pilots at ACL-Live on Tuesday, and Los Lonely Boys play Blues on the Green on Wednesday. That’s some good stuff…get out there and hear it!
