Four Things To Do In Austin This Week

1. 5X5Y: 25 Years of SXSW Music will soon end its run at the Austin History Center. The exhibit remains through July 31, leaving you only a couple of weekends left to visit. Click here for all the details.

2. The CowParade is coming to Austin. Life sized decorated cow sculptures will be placed throughout the city and remain through October. The preview party is Wednesday at the Long Center. For more info, please click here.

3. Sam Beam of Iron and Wine is hosting a movie at the Paramount next week. The film is Paper Moon, starring Ryan O’Neal and daughter Tatum. To learn more, click here.

4. Austin’s live music scene offers up a very mixed bag this weekend. Check out St. Edward’s performance of the opera Carmen at Hope Presbyterian Church on Friday and Sunday, Ben Sollee at The Parish on Saturday, Ashes of Babylon at Ruta Maya on Saturday, and Bob Dylan at Whitewater at the Horseshoe on Sunday.
