A Message from the blogger:
While I normally avoid a first-person approach to writing this blog, I did have the opportunity last Saturday to take the tour of the Live Oak Brewery. If you like beer and supporting local companies, than this is a must see. If you want to see the inner-workings of a beer facility and get the nitty-gritty low-down on how it’s done…this may not quite satisfy your hunger. As in introduction to craft brewing and their own stable of beers, the tour is perfect and everyone in my group had a very good time.
Some tips for you if you go
1. You must RSVP through their website. The tour was very full that day and I’m assuming it is generally the same for every tour.
2. It’s not cool. It’s not ridiculously hot, but it’s not cool…especially waiting for them to open the doors before the noon tour time.
3. At the end you can buy souvenirs. If you buy a logo-emblazoned pilsner glass, they might just fill it up for you. Don’t worry, even if you don’t buy one, you’ll enjoy plenty of beer!
