Rackspace, a computer server company, has announced that they plan to hire as many as 700 additional employees for their Austin location over the next three years. Currently, Rackspace has about 300 employees working in Austin and the company is based in San Antonio, according to a story in the Austin American-Statesman.
The company is seeking to fill positions in software development, Linux systems administration, Windows systems administration, network security administration and storage engineering. In addition to the Austin hiring, Rackspace is looking to increase employee headcount in other locations as well with plans to bring on 1,000 positions company-wide this year.

Rackspace provides the servers that companies use to host websites, email, cloud services and more. They have more than 100,000 business clients, according to their website, www.rackspace.com. They host business emails for over two millions workers worldwide. Rackspace operates nine data centers around the world, including locations in Texas, Chicago, London and Hong Kong. They have been awarded a Top 100 Best Places To Work award from Fortune Magazine, a nationwide ranking.
