Four Things To Do In Austin This Week

This feature highlights four events or activities in Austin and the surrounding area every week. If you have suggestions for events to be mentioned, please email them to

1. The One-Man Star Wars Trilogy is a hilarious and fast-paced summary of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi performed by Charles Ross. Shows throughout the weekend at the Long Center. Click here for more information.

2. In 1974 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre hit movie screens and eventually became a cult hit by which all slasher flicks are measured. This Saturday, Alamo Drafthouse is showing the movie as one of its Rolling Road Show features at the Junction House – setting for the original shooting (though now located in Kingsland), complete with introductions and a Q&A by some of the cast and crew. For the details, click here.

3. NCAA Baseball heats up with one of the regional tournaments kicking off in Austin this weekend at Disch-Falk Field. The University of Texas hosts Texas State, Princeton, and Kent State with the champion advancing to the Super Regional round. Click here to learn more.

4. There’s always live music in Austin, Texas! Here’s what we recommend this week. Balmorhea plays Antone’s on Saturday, Adam Rogers at Speakeasy on Sunday, the Austin Symphony Concerts in the Park at the Long Center on Sunday, and Weezer at Stubb’s on Monday and Tuesday.
