Mission’s Debbie Bailey-Glenn Honored by Habitat

Austin Habitat for Humanity recently awarded a number of honors to their top volunteers for this year. Mission Mortgage is extremely proud to announce that Debbie Bailey-Glenn, one of our Senior Loan Officers, was presented with the Guiding Light award for her contributions to Habitat’s first time home buyer classes. In response to the award, Debbie said, “I can’t believe I’m getting this for something that I love!” Debbie has long been an advocate for helping people realize their dreams of owning their own homes and her involvement with Habitat for Humanity has been a perfect fit.

Realizing the American Dream – A Homebuying Workshop is a comprehensive 8-hour course that provides first time home buyers with the information they need to understand and navigate the process of purchasing a house. The course covers the requirements for home buyer education that are mandatory for certain assistance programs and is a robust curriculum of vital information that any first time buyer would benefit from learning.

Debbie was also presented with a t-shirt with the word “REGULAR” on the back and the Austin Habitat for Humanity logo on the front. For those who are familiar with Habitat, you already know what an honor it is to receive this shirt. To be considered a “REGULAR” is one of the highest compliments that Habitat bestows on its volunteers and means that her efforts are recognized as consistent and continuous.

Mission Mortgage helped launch this new program by sponsoring the classes starting in September 2010 and Debbie Bailey-Glenn has played an integral role in its success. Debbie teaches a significant portion of every class, which are held monthly here in our training facilities at Mission Mortgage. She helps the participants understand their credit scores, the process of obtaining a mortgage, and the common concerns most first time home buyers face when applying for their first loan. She tailors her instruction to the specific needs of the class and discusses each participant’s personal situation with them individually. As they navigate the steps involved in improving their credit, saving for a down payment, and applying for their mortgage loan, Debbie is there to help them in every step of the way. Her dedication to their dreams is highly commendable.

Congratulations Debbie from all of us at Mission Mortgage!
We are very proud of you and we are thankful to have you on our team.
