Imagine Austin Proceeds Forward

The Austin City Council last week voted to allow the process of creating a new master plan for the city to move forward, even though they did not explicitly endorse a specific planning map or proposal.  The vote signified that the council is in favor or continuing the efforts that were started last year to create a comprehensive approach to managing growth in the city, dubbed Imagine Austin.  The committee in charge of the process has recommended a growth map aimed at controlling where growth is highest and where our increasing population will most likely live.

We’ve been covering the story and will continue to do so as the future plan for Austin plays a major role in the real estate market. It is in our best interest to understand how growth will be managed as we anticipate thousands of new residents to arrive every year for the next few years.
