The 57th Annual Parade of Homes was an enormous success. Crowds of visitors descended on Rough Hollow last October to tour some of the most luxurous and innovative custom homes ever built in Austin. The Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin hosted the event and has reported that along with record attendance figures, all seven homes featured on the tour have now been sold. In light of the current national housing market situation, this is an enormous accomplishment and says much of the strength and resiliance of the Austin market.
Mission Mortgage was a proud sponsor of the 57th Annual Parade of Homes. Our sponsorship contributed to the operational budget of the tour and we also were on site during the event to provide information to the thousands of visitors who came through.
More significantly, Mission Mortgage provided lending services as well. We provided both the construction loan and the final permanent loan for the HBA Benefit House as well as the contruction financing for the residence presented by VII Custom Homes, one of our preferred builders. In fact, three of the builders involved in the 2010 Parade – VII Custom Homes, Zbranek Custom Homes, and Rostrata Builders – are listed on our preferred builder page of our website, which you can see by clicking here.
Congratulations to everyone at the HBA and to all seven of the homebuilders for a very successful Parade of Homes.
The complete press release from the HBA is provided below.
All Seven Homes from the 57th Parade of Homes™ Now Sold
Final Sale Is the “Icing on the Cake” for the Record-Breaking Event
Austin, Texas (February 7, 2011) — Just three months after the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin hosted its 57th Annual Parade of Homes™, the seventh and final residence was sold last week. This final sale, coupled with a record fall attendance of 14,000 visitors, helped establish the October 2010 Parade of Homes™ as the most successful fall Parade in the HBA’s history of the event.
“The big number of visitors was great. But, that all seven homes sold makes this Parade of Homes™ stand out as an incredibly positive sign for the Austin housing market in this cautious time,” said Harry Savio, HBA Executive Vice President. “It is news like this that proves up Austin is truly unique.”
The 57th Annual Parade of Homes™ showcased seven Tuscan, Hill Country and contemporary custom home designs built in The Bluffs at Rough Hollow in Lakeway. Offering “attainable luxury by the lake”, the custom homes span in size from 3,500 to 5,900 square feet and were priced from the $750’s to $1.5 million. The Parade of HomesTM offered a diverse line-up of designs constructed by Rostrata Builders, Stonewood Homes, VII Custom Homes, Jenkins Custom Homes, Master’s Touch Custom Homes, Triton Custom Homes and Zbranek Custom Homes.
The Parade of Homes™ symbolizes the “best of the best” for people looking for the latest in home design. For folks looking to buy, the home tour showcases some of the finest new homes for sale in the Austin area. Before the event started, a panel of private judges selected as Best Kitchen, Best Master Bath and Best Outdoor Living among many other award categories.
A portion of event’s proceeds benefited the Lake Travis Education Foundation (LTEF). The LTEF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop financial resources to promote and support an exemplary education for all students in the Lake Travis Independent School District.
About the HBA
For more than 58 years, the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin has served as the leading not-for-profit trade organization dedicated to residential construction and remodeling in Central Texas. With approximately 850 members, the HBA works with government, public, business and community organizations in five counties to protect every family’s right to home ownership. The HBA and its members work to ensure that those who protect us, teach our children, and provide essential services can afford to live here. The vast majority of new homes are purchased by middle-class families – the very people at risk of being priced out of our communities by rising taxes and government fees.
