Work done specifically for Apple has recently boosted Cirrus Logic’s production and the result is a need for more employees.
Cirrus announced plans to hire approximately 150 new employees, most of whom will work from their Austin location. Currently, Cirrus employs 549 people in various locations, including Austin. The hiring is anticipated to be spread out over the next 15 months and will mostly target chip engineers, though other positions may also become available.

Cirrus prides itself on taking care of its employees and was included in the list for Best Companies To Work For In Texas for 2009 and 2010. The company recently began construction on their new headquarters on West 6th Street in Downtown Austin.
Revenue at the company has increased dramatically from a year ago and is predicted to remain at current levels through the next quarter. A driving force behind their recent successes can be linked to their production of audio chips used by Apple in gadgets such as iPods, iTouch, and iPads. The majority of Cirrus’ production is done specifically for Apple.
We congratulate Cirrus Logic for their successes and thank the company for bringing more jobs to our area. It is through the efforts of companies such as Cirrus that Austin continues to be an oasis amidst a desert of unemployment nationally. Our technology sector will continue to expand, further enticing qualified workers to move to Austin which will further attract more technology companies.
