Four Things To Do In Austin This Week

This feature highlights four events or activities in Austin and the surrounding area every week.  If you have suggestions for events to be mentioned, please email them to info@missionmortgage.com.

1. The Intergalactic Nemesis is a live-action performance of a graphic novel. What does that mean? Like an old time radio show, complete with actors voicing parts, sound effects and music, the performance tells a story with the assistance of images projected on a large screen. Back by popular demand from their highly acclaimed show last year, don’t miss this one. Click here for all the details.

2. AHL Hockey is in full swing and the Texas Stars are home on Saturday for a game against the Lake Erie Monsters (really, that’s their name). There’s not a bad seat at the Cedar Park Center, so head north for the best hockey in Austin. For tickets and more information, click here.

3. For those with music-loving kiddos, check out Hey Lollies First Saturday at Flipnotics on Barton Springs Road at 10:30 am for a children’s music and puppet show. You can’t beat the price and you can grab a coffee while you are there. Click here for more details.

4. Free week continues at a number of local music venues. Catch What Made Milwaukee Famous at Emo’s on Friday and The Young Maths at Stubb’s (inside) on Saturday. Other noteworthy music events include Gary Clark, Jr at Antone’s on Friday and Jon Blondell Quintet at Elephant Room on Tuesday.
