Four Things To Do In Austin This Week

This feature highlights four events or activities in Austin and the surrounding area every week.  If you have suggestions for events to be mentioned, please email them to info@missionmortgage.com.

1. Support local sports this weekend by cheering on the UT Volleyball team as they host the Regional Tournament with a shot at earning a spot in the NCAA semifinals. Also, Lake Travis, Wimberley, Stony Point, and Lago Vista high school football teams all compete in semifinal games looking to earn a chance at the state championship in their respective divisions.

2. The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar kicks off next Wednesday at its new location at the Palmer Events Center. Finish up your holiday shopping and catch some great live music at the same time. See the official website for more details.

3. Visit the Holiday Book Fair at 15th and Rio Grande on Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm and meet 25 authors as they present their books for sale. Proceeds benefit Texas Libraries. Visit the event website for more information.

4. Plenty of great music on tap this week, with What Made Milwaukee Famous at Antone’s on Friday, the SIMS Benefit at Austin Music Hall on Saturday, and Shawn Colvin and Patti Griffin at the Paramount on Sunday.
