More Rebates for Appliances in Texas

If you are planning to buy any appliances this holiday season, you may want to wait until December 20th. The Texas Comptroller has announced that mail-in rebates for certain appliances will once again become available starting on that date. The program matches a similar program conducted earlier this year.  That program did not use all of the allocated funds provided by the Federal Government, so Texas is bringing back the program in an effort to distribute the rebates to more buyers.

Eligible appliances include:
• Central Air Conditioning Units
• Dishwashers
• Clothes Washers
• Refrigerators
• Freezers
• Hot Water Heaters
• And more…

Certain restrictions apply, of course.  The goal of the program is to encourage people to retire old, energy-inefficient appliances and replace them with new, energy-efficient models.  By providing these rebates, the state hopes to promote better understanding of energy usage while decreasing the overall energy consumption and needs of our society.  It is a lofty goal, to be sure, but one that is worth money to you if you purchase eligible appliances before the money is exhausted.  You will also save money on your monthly energy bills by converting to more efficient appliances.
