Four Things To Do In Austin This Week

This feature highlights four events or activities in Austin and the surrounding area every week.  If you have suggestions for events to be mentioned, please email them to info@missionmortgage.com.

1. The East Austin Studio Tour continues through Sunday with over 100 exhibits, displays and activities. East Austin is quickly becoming a destination for artists and art lovers and this is your chance to see why. Visit their website for more information.

2. Home Slice and Habitat for Humanity are teaming up on Saturday for the Carnival o’ Pizza featuring music, dance, pizza dough throwing competitions and a pizza eating contest. The best part is that proceeds benefit Habitat Young Professionals, a group formed to contribute to the mission of Austin Habitat for Humanity. See the official website for all the details.

3. Give back and give thanks. Saturday is Service Austin Day 2010 with over 30 service projects to be completed during the day. Volunteers are needed and can receive a free t-shirt and breakfast tacos while helping out with at various locations throughout Austin. See their website for more information and to sign up.

4. Three great shows on tap for this week. First, check out Big Head Todd at Stubb’s on Friday. Then head back to Stubb’s for the John Butler Trio on Saturday. Then treat yourself to blues master Pinetop Perkins at Antone’s on Tuesday.
