Four Things To Do In Austin This Week

This feature highlights four events or activities in Austin and the surrounding area every week.  If you have suggestions for events to be mentioned, please email them to

1. The Gypsy Picnic Trailer Food Festival is Saturday from 11am – 8pm at Auditorium Shores. Dozens of Austin’s famous food trailers lined up and ready to serve along with live music. Judges will award prizes and the public gets to vote for their favorite, too. Click here for more details.

2. Put on the kilt and head to the Austin Celtic Festival on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7:30 pm at Fiesta Gardens for music, dance, storytelling and more. The highland games are sure to be a crowd favorite. We love the Caber Toss! More information is available at their website.

3. Looking for some laughs? Try the Cap City Comedy club where Joe Rogan will take the stage to entertain. He won’t be putting anyone through the Fear Factor tests, but he will make you laugh. Get the facts by clicking here.

4. 90 bands in three days at Fun Fun Fun Fest Friday-Sunday at Waterloo Park. Click here for more info. Other music recommendations for this week include Perpetual Groove at Antone’s on Friday, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe at La Zona Rosa on Saturday, and Iration at Emo’s next Wednesday. Get out and enjoy live music!
