Check Websites at downrightnow.com

Every now and then we come across a website that fulfills a very specific niche in an easy-to-use manner. Recently, while trying to provide the latest updates on our Facebook page, we had difficulty logging into the system. The website was found (meaning it wasn’t an internal internet access issue), but the login procedure would take us to a page that had nothing on it except the blue background of the Facebook page. No error message or other indication that they were having troubles. After trying various other websites (that were all working fine), we figured it must be a problem with Facebook.

That led us to wonder if there was a place where system-level issues and outages are reported for Facebook and some of the other most popular websites. We found one and we thought we would share it with you.

www.downrightnow.com  provides status updates on the systems that run Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and more. While we recognize that this website doesn’t report on all websites, it is a quick and easy resource to determine if certain websites are up and running. Check it out and the next time you encounter an access issue you will have a resource to help you determine if the issue is systemwide.

If you know of other helpful websites that you think we should share, please email us at info@missionmortgage.com. If we like your suggestion, we’ll post it here on our blog.
