Artist Reception – The Gallery At Mission Mortgage

Mission Mortgage hosted our first Artist Reception at our new gallery space, located in our corporate offices in Austin last evening. Our featured artist, Jared Dunten, spent time meeting the guests, talking about his artwork and his mission, and sharing an abundance of inspiration to the many guests in attendance. Jared’s wife Kim beamed with pride as everyone spoke so highly of Jared’s work and how much his efforts impressed them. We learned from Jared how he was motivated to start his journey into the visual arts by his mother and how his work is helping to pave the way for medical research aimed at helping those with spinal cord injuries regain their full faculties. It was a pleasure to host this event in Jared’s honor to celebrate his work and his life.

Our event drew over 50 people who mixed and mingled, enjoyed food and drink, and spent time admiring the wonderful artwork hanging in our gallery. Everyone had a wonderful time and the group got quite lively as we began the auction. Jared donated a print to be auctioned, with proceeds benefitting the Will Walk Foundation. Special guest Ron Oliveira from KEYE-TV served as our auctioneer. After a round of very lively bidding, Jared agreed to donate a second print to keep the auction rolling. Proceeds from the auction and from pledged donations allowed us to raise over $1600 for the Will Walk Foundation! For more information about the Will Walk Foundation, please click here.

Jared and the event were featured in a special segment on KEYE-TV yesterday on both their 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm broadcasts. After showing the clip on the 10:00 pm broadcast, Ron Oliveira was kind enough to mention that he was here at the event and how much he enjoyed the artwork and the opportunity to meet and speak with Jared. If you didn’t have a chance to see the segment yesterday, you can watch it by clicking here.

Mission Mortgage would like to express our gratitude to everyone who came to the event. We would like to thank our sponsors The Ceshker Group and Platinum Title Partners for their support. We would also like to thank Pappas Catering for providing an incredible spread of food and for taking such great care of our guests. In addition, we would like to thank our volunteers who helped make this event run smoothly and the Barton Oaks Plaza management team for their willingness and assistance in hosting this event. Finally and most importantly, we would like to thank Jared Dunten for sharing his work, his time, and his story with us. It was a truly memorable event and we came away inspired to make the most of our opportunities, to help those who need our support, and to continue our goal of supporting local Austin artists and charities.

Jared Dunten’s work will continue to hang in The Gallery at Mission Mortgage through the end of October. If you would like to view his artwork, please email us at to make an appointment.
