Four Things to do in Austin This Week

This feature highlights four events or activities in Austin and the surrounding area every week.  If you have suggestions for events to be mentioned, please email them to info@missionmortgage.com.

1.   Dripping with Taste Wine and Food Festival at the Creekside Pavilion near Driftwood offers specialties from 14 wineries, plus food, music, and art this Saturday from noon – 7 pm.  Enjoy instructions on wine tasting, culinary demonstrations, and some great music. Click Here for all the details.

2.   Del Castillo, an energetic and talented latin-influenced local band, takes the stage at Antone’s on Saturday night. This local favorite puts on a heck of a show with brothers Mark and Rick del Castillo trading licks on guitar, Mike and Albert holding down the rhythm section, and charismatic Alex Ruiz up front. You won’t be disappointed.  For more details, click here.

3.   The bard is alive in Austin this weekend as Austin Shakespeare puts on The Tempest, one of Shakespeare’s great romance stories. The show runs Thursdays through Saturdays, September 9 – 26 at the Rollins Theater at The Long Center.  Click Here for more information and to purchase tickets.

 4.   First high school, then college, now the pros.  Football season is upon us. The NFL opens the season this weekend and includes Indy at Houston Sunday at 12:00 and Dallas at Washington Sunday night at 7:30. If you’re looking for a great place to catch the games, try Third Base at 1717 W. 6th Street or The Tavern at 12th and Lamar.
