Construction has started on a new rehabilitation hospital with plans for 60 patient beds in South Austin along Ben White Boulevard. The facility will encompass 65,000 square feet and located near St. David’s Hospital, according to a story in the Austin American-Statesman.
The hospital plans to open in second quarter 2012 with no fewer than 50 employees, with expansion possible to up to 150 employees when it reaches full capacity.
Construction jobs were not disclosed, nor were the companies involved in the building. A message on the Reliant Hospital website says,
“Coming soon! Reliant Rehabilitation Hospital Austin will offer 60 private rehabilitation rooms. All patients will enjoy flat-screen televisions, oversized shower and bathroom, personal desk and wood floors. Wireless internet and spacious lounge areas provide comfort and encourage patients to stay connected to friends and family. In addition, our Austin hospital will offer specialized programs specifically for orthopedic patients undergoing knee or hip replacement surgery.”
